KIRKSVILLE,MO -- The United Way kicked off its annual dinner and meeting Thursday night for those who helped serve and volunteer leadership and their success over the past year.  The dinner was held at the Georgian Room at Truman State University.

Over $207,000 was raised for the 2010 campaign.  The United Way of Adair County is looking to expand to other communities and expand fundraisers for 2011.

Executive Director John Dungan took over the job in June 2010 and is very excited about the possibilities for the upcoming year.  "We look forward to encouraging a growth and relationship for those who live in this area and hope to improve the growth and stabilization and health for months and years to come," Dungan said.
