A several month long investigation ends with nine people arrested in an early morning drug sweep across Macon and Adair Counties.
Macon County Sheriff Robert Dawson said “We started about 6 a.m., we sent teams out with warrants and had real good success gathering them all up.”
One suspect is still at large, but Dawson said the necessary steps are being taken to get the subject behind bars as soon as possible.
Three others were also charged in the bust, but were already in prison on other charges.
The Macon County Sheriff’s Office headed up the investigation named Operation St. Patrick’s Smackdown, along with the Macon Police, LaPlata Police, Missouri State Highway Patrol, North Missouri Drug Task Force and the Adair County Sheriff's Office.

How do we know that some of these people weren't set up by a crooked undercover state patrolman, like happened in Sullivan County several years ago? Later, it became known that the undercover stae patrolman was a member of a car theft ring that involved three states, and was accused of planting drugs in the car of a police officer that was going to testify against him. I'm just saying, most of these people are probably guilty, but there are some who may have been a government officials' pawn, or simply an innocent victim. Let's wait for their trials before we condemn!

I am glad that KTVO takes responsiblity to inform the public of incidences like this most people act like they are unaware this kind of thing goes on, most of the time right under their noses. These people need to be pointed out so others will be aware of what will happen to them when they get caught too. There needs to be tougher laws so they all pay the consequences of their actions. We MUST protect our children and our families from the dangers of people like this.
