Gay marriage debate gets double dose of activism at Iowa Capitol

Chanting “Let us vote. Let us vote,” about 500 supporters of an Iowa constitutional amendment to ban same gender marriage rallied Tuesday at the Iowa Capitol.

New law, effective Tuesday, provides ADA accessibility to rec trails

Thanks to a new law that went into effect Tuesday, those with a mobility disability are now able to use a mobility device to access recreation trails.

Washington School District receives $500,000 matching grant

Washington Schools Superintendent Mike Jorgensen reported Tuesday that the district will receive $500,000 toward the installation of a geothermal system refit at the 1918 Washington High School building, but only if a bond referendum to upgrade the school is approved in June.
