Drug Task Force wins three convictions

OTTUMWA, IOWA -- The last few weeks have proved fruitful for the Southeast Iowa Interagency Task Force.

Over that time three southeast Iowans have pleaded guilty as a result of task force investigations.

In january, Anna Marie Matthews, 46, of Washington pleaded guilty in Keokuk County to delivery of a controlled substance. Matthews was arrested by the task force in August of 2010 and will servce a maximum of ten years.

Last week, two other men pleaded to drug charges in Wapello County stemming from task force investigations.

Douglas Barton Traul, 36, of Ottumwa will serve up to five years for possession of marijuana with intent to deliver. Traul was arrested in November of 2009.

Greg Alan Steward, 56, of Jefferson County will also face up to five years after he pleaded guilty to possession of meth precursors. Steward was arrested in October of 2009.
