KIRKSVILLE, MO --
It's officially Quota Cares Month in Kirksville.
The K irksville chapter of Quota International kicked off Quota Cares Month Tuesday with the signing of an official proclamation by Mayor Todd Kuhns.
The designation of quota cares month is to show the community that the service club is here and its members want to help people.
“Quota International has asked all their clubs to do something in the month of March to show what we do in the community and do a special project and this year we have chosen a special project of supplying items to foster children in Adair County,” said Mary Jane Kiefer, Chairwoman of Quota Cares Month.
Quota is teaming up with the Kirksville MOMS Club, which recently held a rummage sale to buy suitcases for foster kids.
The Quota Club's project will be to fill the suitcases with items the kids can call their own and take with them if they leave the foster home. Those items include blankets, pillowcases, books, crayons, and hygiene items.
If you’re interested in joining Quota Club, contact Mary Jane Kiefer at 665-5712. Quota Club is a service organization. Its main focus is helping children with speech and hearing impairments, along with disadvantaged women and children.
