Centerville man entices minor using social network sites

CENTERVILLE, IOWA -- A Centerville man stand charged with two felonies for his attempt to coerce a minor into prostitution.

William Henry Weideman, 48, 415 street after a parent complained to Centerville Police about inappropriate messages on a child's social networking site.

The messages were designed to entice the minor into acts of prostitution with Weideman.

Weideman is charged with pandering a class "C" felony and enticing a minor a "D" felony.

Chief of Police Tom Demry says that this case is the perfect example of why parents need to monitor their child's computer activites.

Weideman was released from the Appanoose County Jail after posting a bond.
