Last minute Valentine's Day gift ideas
KIRKSVILLE,MO -- That’s right guys! It’s that time of year again! It’s time to dust off the romance playbook and find the right play to sweep that special someone off their feet. Even though Valentine’s Day is hours away, there is no need to panic.
The Blossom Shop on North Green street has been serving the folks of Kirksville for over three decades and this year, there is no exception. Owner Melodie Sevits knows that guys are crunched for time and she knows exactly what they need.
"We have a lot of different selections for guys, and we have about anything you can think of right now as far as the flower industry goes" said Sevits.
The Blossom Shop also plans to send six trucks Monday out with delivery guys dressed in tuxedos to make extra special deliveries. Co-owner David Sevits said business has picked up over the weekend.
"We appear pretty busy this year, because Valentine’s Day is on a Monday, so it’s more strung out. We began on Friday, delivered a few today and of course tomorrow will be the big day” said David.
I wondered over to Truman State University to see if the guys there knew that Valentines Day was just a few hours away. I found Caleb Reed who was a bit surprised with the news.
“Were you aware tomorrow was Valentines Day? I was not! Uh Oh! So you don’t have any plans? I do not" said Reed.
Stella Zhang knew exactly what she wanted for Valentine’s Day, and she offered Caleb some advice.
"I think it should be something sweet, something the girl has hinted at or maybe not hinted at, but the girl just knows they like” said Zhang.
Assistant professor of health, exercise and science Joe Visker said he has learned from years past.
"Several years back I just made the decision that I wasn't going to even celebrate Valentine’s Day. I learned never to do that again” said Visker.
The Blossom Shop employees will be working around the clock tonight and into tomorrow preparing for the big day. Joe Visker had one last word of advice fellow men everywhere.
"It doesn't matter how much you spend, just remember the day. Even if it’s something not that big, just remember the day, and let the other person know you care for them"
