BURLINGTON, IOWA (AP) -- Burlington authorities say a math teacher who tried to break up a fight between two girls got her hair pulled and her face scratched.
Police told The Hawk Eye that there were two altercations at Aldo Leopold Middle School on Tuesday afternoon, involving five students.
As teachers were trying to calm down the combatants in the first one, two students squared off on their own. That's when teacher Krista DeHaan stepped in. But her hair got pulled, her face got scratched several times and her
ID badge was torn off. The five girls were cited by Burlington police for disorderly conduct/fighting.
