MT. PLEASANT, IOWA -- Just about everyone would like a do-over. And an Iowa writer has found an outlet for people to anonymously release the biggest regrets of their lives. Kevin Hansen created www.SecretRegrets.com, a confession-based blog in 2007. The responses included some people's deepest, darkest secrets and regrets.
But what followed was truly inspiring, an outpouring of support shown by strangers who made it through similar situations. Hansen's project turned into an online support community, where people realized they were not alone. The blog was so popular, Hansen soon had enough material for a book. Hansen recently released the Amazon bestselling book, "Secret Regrets: What if you had a Second Chance?"
Hansen will present “Secret Regrets: What if you had a Second Chance?” in the Chapel of Iowa Wesleyan College, on Feb. 17 at 7:30 p.m. The program is free and open to the public.
Hansen was previously scheduled to speak at Iowa Wesleyan College in January, but needed to reschedule the date after his “Secret Regrets” book caught the attention of the Dr. Phil Show. Dr. Phil flew Hansen to Hollywood and taped an entire show dedicated to Hansen’s book and his website. The show will air in mid- or late-February.
Hansen is a graduate of the University of Northern Iowa and currently resides in Cedar Falls, Iowa.
