OTTUMWA,IOWA -- Indian Hills was the place to be saturday morning, as hundreds attended the inaugaral Live Healthy Workshop.
It was held at the Rural Health Education Center from 9 a.m. till 1 p.m. The free event offered a variety of health screenings, cooking demos, chair massages; as well as yoga and zumba classes.
There were also several guest speakers on hand to discuss how to improve one's health and the importance of mental health.
YMCA Fitness and Marketing Director Becky Garetson says the event reiterates the need for staying healthy.
"The whole point of our event was to raise awareness in the community. To try and collaborate with the different community businesses. Make Ottumwa and the surrounding area a healthier community."
Garetson hopes to make the workshop an annual event.
