OTTUMWA,IOWA -- Iowa Congressman Dave Loebsack made a visit to Ottumwa Thursday.
The U.S. Representative came to the Indian Hills Airport training center as part of an economic tour across Iowa. He met with several city leaders including Mayor Uehling to discuss job creation and economic development.
After the meeting, Loebsack was given a tour of the facility and got a first hand look at the schools state of the are flight simulation.
Loebsack says he enjoys visiting Ottumwa, and knows the city's economic future is vital for the rest of the state.
"Indian Hills has played a very critical role in economic development for quite a number of years here in Ottumwa. It's also important for me to talk to local business owners to find out from them what they need form us in Washington D.C. in terms of regulatory and tax policies. So I'm asking for their input on that front as well."
Congressman Loebsack also made visits to Allerton and Centerville later in the day.
