Bates named Schultz Award winner

OTTUMWA, IOWA -- Chuck Bates was named the Gene Schultz Community Service Award Winner at Thursday night's annual Ottumwa Chamber Banquet.

Bates has spent nearly five decades living, working and volunteering in the community.

Four Ottumwa businesses were recognized as oustanding businesses for the year, the Lucky Rooster Coffee Shop, O'Hara's Hardware, KLEE-KTOM Radio and Elliot Oil.

The keynote speaker was Brad Little, the new director of the Ottumwa Regional Health Center Legacy Foundation.

Little is new to the area and told the corwd he is very impressed with the economic development efforts in Ottumwa.
