UPDATE: Five hurt in Heartland house fire - NAMES RELEASED

CENTERVILLE, IOWA -- Officials with the Centerville Fire Department have now released names of the injured in the house fire early Thursday morning. Injured were, Hope Shondal, 39, two of her children, Samantha Anthony, 21, and Michael Shondal, 19. Also injured were Hope Shondal's twin grandchildren, Virginia and Georgia, both two years of age.

One of the twins, Georgia, and Samantha Anthony remain hospitalized at University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City. The other three were treated and released at the same hospital. The five received a combination of burns and smoke inhalation in the blaze. The cause remains undetermined; however, the fire it is NOT considered suspicious.

A Southeast Iowa house fire sent five people to the hospital for treatment of burns and smoke inhalation.

Three of those injured remained hospitalized Thursday night.

The fire at 406 N. 18th Street in Centerville was called in around 6:45 a.m. Thursday.

The caller reported that there were possibly people trapped inside the home.

When firefighters got there, they said a lot of flames were coming from the front of the house, and all occupants were out of the residence.

Right now, the cause of the fire is undetermined and remains under investigation by the Centerville Fire Department and the State Fire Marshal's Office.

They say foul play is not suspected.

A firefighter at the scene said they believe the blaze may have started in the home’s attic.

All five people in the home were transferred to University Hospital in Iowa City.

They range in age from two to 39. Three of them are still in the hospital. Their conditions are not being released.

The other two were treated and released.

The fire department told KTVO Thursday night they don't expect to release their names until sometime Friday.
