KIRKSVILLE, MO. -- Adair County Sheriff Bob Hardwick has released the toxicology results in connection with a murder-suicide that occurred outside of Kirksville back in October.
The toxicology report on Kyley Sutton, 19, revealed the only foreign substance in his blood at the time of the incident was alcohol.
Sutton, along with the victim, Andrew Lough, 38, were both pronounced dead at the scene by Adair County Coroner Brian Noe.
At the time of the incident, Sutton had been dating Lough’s 16-year-old daughter. Investigators said the shootings happened after Andrew Lough had asked Sutton to leave the home.
Law enforcement officers said Sutton then went to his truck where he retrieved a hunting rifle. He then returned to the house where he shot Andrew Lough, who was standing near the front door.
Sutton then went back to his truck, got in and fatally shot himelf.
Authorities would not release the exact level of alcohol in Sutton’s blood.
