FAIRFIELD,IOWA -- Some residents in Fairfield got a chance to voice their opinions to state representatives Saturday morning.
The Fairfield Chamber of Commerce hosted a legislative breakfast for the public. Residents had to sign up in advance.
Representative Curt Hanson and Representative-Elect Jarad Klein were present to answer questions residents had. The concerns ranged from education to job growth.
With the new legislative session beginning last Monday, the representatives believe this was a great opportunity to listen to their constituents.
Representative Hanson says he wants to answer the public's concerns in Des Moines.
"Well I hope we can provide jobs for the middle class people. And I hope we can keep our schools funded and our educational issues funded; so that we can move forward with our children and not hurt our children and their future with unnecessary cuts that hurt the educational future and our children. And our own economic well being."
If you are interested in attending the next legislative breakfast, the Chamber of Commerce plans to have more events on February 19th and March 19th. Visit www.fairfieldiowa.com for more information.
