DES MOINES, IOWA (AP) -- A state audit shows the Honey Creek Resort in southern Iowa had a deficit of more than $46,000 in fiscal 2010.
The audit released Friday by Iowa Auditor David Vaudt says the resort reported the operating loss for the 12 months ending June 30, 2010.
The 2010 audit shows revenue of $5.72 million and expenses of more than $5.76 million.
In its first audit, for the year ending June 30, 2009, the resort was almost $900,000 in the red.
The $58 million resort has a lodge, cabins, golf course and indoor water park. It sits on the bank of Rathbun Lake near Moravia in south-central Iowa.
Honey Creek Resort State Park is owned by the state. Central Group Cos., Inc., was hired by the state as manager.
