OSKALOOSA, IOWA (AP) -- An Oskaloosa chiropractor convicted of sexually abusing patients has been sentenced 12 years in prison.

KCCI-TV of Des Moines says Jason Ebelsheiser was sentenced on Thursday in Mahaska County District Court in Oskaloosa. He was convicted in October on one count of third-degree sexual abuse, two counts of assault with intent to commit sexual abuse and one count of tampering with medical records.

Ebelsheiser was arrested in 2009 after being accused of abusing women, ages 17 to 46.

Before sentencing, Ebelsheiser's attorney, Leon Spies, made a motion for a new trial, which was denied.
