KIRKSVILLE, MO -- It was a busy holiday weekend for Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The patrol investigated four-hundred and 87 crashes from Thursday December 23rd to Sunday December 26th.
Two of those were fatal crashes.
One was in the Lee Summit area and the other in the Benton County.
Out of the 487 crashes, there were one hundred and 22 injuries reported.
Missouri State Troopers also arrested 51 people for driving while intoxicated.
Even though these numbers seem high, they are actually down from last year.
During the same time, the patrol investigated four hundred and 94 crashes, which included 11-fatalities and one-hundred and forty-eight injuries.
But only 42 people were arrested for driving while intoxicated over the 2009 Christmas holiday.
