KIRKSVILLE, MO. -- A fender bender involving a Kirksville school bus and a car caused a slight delay for a school bus full of kids Tuesday afternoon.

Just before 3  p.m., Kirksville police were called to the corner of Hamilton and Lewis Streets.

Police said the bus driver, Lajena “Jena” Coin of Brashear, told them the car failed to stop at a stop sign.

That car was driven by Robert Roland, 17, of Kirksville.

Investigators said Roland told them he was unable to stop.

Roland's car struck the bus in the right side.

The auto's bumper received most of the damage, while the bus had minimal damage.

Luckily everyone, including all the kids on the bus, escaped unharmed.

About 15 minutes later, the bus was on its way to get the students home to start their Christmas break.
