OTTUMWA, IOWA -- Press Release from City of Ottumwa 

* City of Ottumwa departments and offices at City Hall will be closed Friday, December 24th through Monday, December 27th in observance of the Christmas Holiday.

* The City Health and Inspections Department is open holiday hours - 8 AM to 4:30 PM, now through the end of 2010.  

* The Ottumwa Public Library will be closed Friday, December 24th through Monday, the 27th. 

* The Ottumwa/ Wapello Landfill and Recycling Center will be closed Friday, December 24th and Saturday, December 25th.  Both facilities will be open regular hours on Monday, December 27th.

* City trash and recycling collection that would normally occurs on Friday, December 24th will be moved up one day to Thursday, December 23rd.   Tuesday appliance and yard waste collections are not affected by the holidays.

* For Whaley Waste trash and recycling collection in rural areas served through the City, collection that would normally be Friday, December 24th will be moved up one day to Thursday, December 23rd. 

* The Ottumwa, Calvary and Jewish Cemetery office at 1302 N. Court will be closed Friday the 24th and Monday, December 27th.  

* Ottumwa Transit Authority buses will not be operating Friday, December 24th or Saturday, December 25th.    City buses will return to regular routes and schedules on Monday, December 27th.

* Ottumwa Water and Hydro Offices will be closed for the holiday on Thursday, December 23rd and Friday, December 24th.
