FAIRFIELD, IOWA-- The Fairfield Area Chamber of Commerce is launching an ambitious new business plan.
Leaders unveiled Strategic Plan 2013. The plan calls for numerous programs to be established in three years to help bring more business.
Among the goals: creating a leadership institute, which prepares members as effective leaders. Another goal is to help entrepreneurs get started get started by serving the needs of start-ups in the city. And a career academy to help members get prepared for the work force.
Chamber Executive Director Brent Willet says it's a plan that has many benefits for the city.
"The last two, two and a half, three years have been extraordinarily challenging to the Fairfield, Jefferson county area business community. Certainly our capacity to deliver services and benefits to our members relies directly on their success and their ability to robustly invest in their community."
"If we accomplish what we set out to do, a series of bold, ambitious goals in this plan, we'll reach that objective and deliver more value, better services, more advocacy to our close to 400 member partners."
