Local man killed in crash

NEAR MILLARD, MO. -- A Northeast Missouri man was killed Monday morning in a crash on Highway 63 in Millard, Missouri. 

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Jared Albright, 23, of Macon was killed when his northbound vehicle, struck the rear of a backhoe, which was also northbound on 63. 

Northbound traffic was backed up as the lanes were blocked while emergency crews worked the crash scene. 

Albright was pronounced dead at the scene by Adair County Coroner Brian Noe. 

The operator of the backhoe, 57-year-old Tommy Willis, 57, of Laplata was taken to Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville following the crash, where he was treated and released.
