OTTUMWA, IOWA -- It’s the last weekend before Christmas, and customers are hitting the stores hoping to purchase those last minute Christmas gifts.

Sales at Bridge City TV and Appliance have been going extremely well.

Store Owner Chris McKeag said holiday shoppers are snatching up some of this year's hottest appliances and electronics.

"The LED and LCD TVs are probably the most popular items because the prices have come down so much," McKeag said. "Also, the 3D televisions are really taking off. In the past, customers have waited until the last minute to purchase their gifts, but items are selling fast this year."

The O'Hara Hardware store was packed with shoppers on Saturday.

Customers stopped by to stock up on their Christmas needs and taking advantage of holiday bargains.

Sales Clerk Kelly Smith said sales at O'Hara Hardware have been going much better than last year.

"The sales have been great and we've had a lot of last minute happens," Smith said. "We have a lot of unique items and a lot of things left. So we're just waiting for the customers to come in."

Santa Claus and his reindeer were also O'Hara Hardware handing out toys and taking pictures with the kids.

The reindeer will stick around until Christmas Eve.
