FAIRFIELD, IOWA -- The Fairfield City Council voted in favor to empty out a neighborhood trailer park.
Council members voted unanimously to shut down Ranch Trailer Park, citing distracting debris and over twenty vacant trailers.
Supporters say they tried to work things out with residents and gave them time to clean up the area, but residents didn't comply.
Surprisingly, when the floor was open to the public, no residents were at the meeting to voice their opinion.
City leaders say letters will be sent out to residents at Ranch Park, and that they will help them with re-location.
Residents will have until June to move out.
