KIRKSVILLE, MO -- A big bluegrass band played in Kirksville Sunday night.

The punches family from Fredericktown, Missouri visited the Hamilton Street Baptist church for a gospel performance

The six family members have played together for five years and have won numerous awards for their gospel music.

The church thought the musical family would be appeal to everyone.

The gospel group was a special event for the church and its congregation.

“This is the first one we've had since I've been here.  I've only been here a year-and-a-half, but from the size of the crowd, I'm thinking we might need some more because I know people enjoy it a lot,” said Josh Smith, the music minister at Hamilton Street.

The Punches family has two boys and twin girls, all of whom sing and play musical instruments.

The family just came from a bluegrass festival in Iowa and will host a festival in Fruitland, Missouri in late January.
