KIRKSVILLE, MO -- A Kirksville interfaith service brings in churches from all over town.

Kirksville Interchurch Ministries (KIM) held a special thanksgiving service at the church of the Nazarene.

The service is one of four events KIM sponsors every year as part of an effort to help local congregations learn from one another.

"The mission would be to bring all these churches together and then to hear some of the things that are going on in the community, like Habitat for Humanity, for emergency relief, for Food Depot, Red Cross, Salvation Army, and then give their reports.  And so then all of these representatives from the different churches go back and inform their churches about it,” said Fran Norman, president of KIM.

KIM raises funds for many organizations but money from tonight's service went to the Salvation Army to help them during the holiday season.
