KIRKSVILLE, MO -- Well if you’re looking to burn off some of those extra calories from that Thanksgiving feast on Thursday you might want to consider this.  The Adair County YMCA will be hosting their 4th Annual Turkey Trot on Saturday at 9:00 a.m.

“People are excited” said Organizer Brittni Garver.  “Our numbers are a little bit lower but we’re expecting those people to come in on Saturday morning and register then.  It’s the perfect opportunity to shed some of that extra weight you might put on during the holiday.”

There’s fun to be had by the entire family.  There will be a 5K/10K Run/Walk for those 13 and older, a Tot-Trot for kids ages 3 to 12 and even a Stroller Stroll for those parents who want to cart their youngsters around in a stroller.  The cost is $20 per participant and all proceeds will benefit the United Way.

The top male and female overall in the 5K and 10K runs will receive trophies.  The top three male and female finishers in each age/weight division of the 5K and 10K will receive medals.  All participants will also receive a long sleeve t-shirt to commemorate the event.
