Man arrested for punching officer

KIRKSVILLE, MO --  

The Truman State University police have arrested a man for multiple charges.
    
Austin Kirby, 22, of Olathe, Kansas is charged with disturbing the peace from an incident on campus.
    
When a police officer was called to the scene, Kirby refused to identify himself.    
    
According to court papers, Kirby punched the officer in the face and got into a physical altercation, causing the police uniform to rip.
   
Kirby is charged with assaulting a law enforcement officer in the second degree, a class C felony.
   
Kirby's also charged with the class D felony of resisting arrest and second degree property damage.
