KIRKSVILLE, MO -- The El Kadir Shrine Club was the place to be Friday.

Hundreds of people came out for El Kadir Jewels’ 39th Annual Luncheon and Bazaar.

Not only were people able to shop around.

They enjoyed a delicious meal that included turkey, mashed potatoes, green beans, and a dinner roll.

“We have fed in the past anywhere up to about 1,000 and today I’m guessing we’re probably serving 850 or more,” said Dorothy snipes, co-chair for the luncheon and bazaar.

The meal cost $8 and all the money goes to a local charity.

“It is to help benefit the crippled children and the transportation fund and the various activities that go on at the shrine club,” said Snipes.

The luncheon is held once a year.
