KIRKSVILLE, MO -- Over 100 bikers traveled the roads in Kirksville Saturday, to celebrate The Salvation Army’s 5th Annual Food and Toy Run.

The bikers, known as The Freedom of Road Riders, donated food and toys for needy children for the upcoming holiday season.

Major Bill Hogg, who is in charge of The Salvation Army in Adair County, is thankful for the donations. Hogg says that today’s event was just as exciting as it was last year.

“These will be saved for the mothers and fathers to come chose and give toys to their child and the food will be used for food baskets,” said Hogg.  “Our chapel is now quite full of toys and food and we’re happy to that. It’s a good kickoff for Christmas for us.”

If you would like to make a donation call 660-665-7885 or stop by The Salvation Army at 1004 West Gardner Street.
