Steve Hubbert, REALTOR® and broker sales associate with Hutcheson-Coker Real Estate in Bolivar, Mo.; Carolyn Mayhew, REALTOR® with Tri-Lakes, REALTORS® in Shell Knob, Mo.; and Carmen Stanton, REALTOR® and Accredited Staging Professional with Century 21 Whitney Agency in Kirksville, Mo., received the 2010 Henry J. Aydt Memorial Scholarship Award from the Missouri Association of REALTORS® (MAR) Oct. 1.
The scholarship—which funds enrollment in the Graduate REALTOR® Institute Ethics Course—is awarded each year to individuals who have been REALTORS® for five years or less and are an active members of their local REALTOR® associations.
“In a relatively short amount of time, these outstanding individuals have demonstrated a tremendous commitment to supporting our association’s code of ethics,” said R.Dennis McClelland, CEO and executive vice president of MAR. “They are natural leaders and true assets to their fellow REALTORS®.”
Hubbert, a Bolivar native, began his career in real estate in 2005 after more than 20 years in the banking industry. He is currently serving his second term as president of the Ozarks Board of REALTORS®. He also coordinates the board's biennial continuing education classes and chairs the annual Charity Home and Garden Show, which raises money for two Habitat for Humanity chapters. He holds a bachelor’s degree in agricultural business from Missouri State University.
Mayhew joined the state and national REALTOR® associations in 2010. An entrepreneur from Kansas, she has worked in a variety of industries, including farming, food and beverage, home remodeling and rentals, and oil and gas leasing.
Stanton became a licensed REALTOR® in 2008 after more than 20 years of experience in the real estate industry. She holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing from the University of Las Vegas. She currently serves as treasurer of the Northeast Central Board of REALTORS®. She also is the director of the Northeast Missouri Medical Reserve Corps, and a member of the board of directors of Field of Dreams Rescue, the Women of the Moose and Beta Sigma Phi. She and her husband are the co-owners of Stanton Contracting LLC and Stanton Rentals LLC.
The scholarship was established in 1998 in memory of Henry J. Aydt, a St. Louis area REALTOR® for more than 40 years and a pioneer in real estate ethics education, by Richard Mendenhall, CIPS, CCIM, CRB, GRI, ePRO®, past president of the Missouri Association of REALTORS® and the National Association of REALTORS®.
