ADAIR COUNTY, MO --

The Adair County Commissioners are unhappy with the state of some county roads.

They met with MoDOT District Engineer Dan Niec to talk about the devastation caused as a result of the Alternate Route 63 project and bridge closures on Highway 11.

The damage is from the contractor's gravel trucks coming in, as well as heavy traffic caused by the closures.

“In just a few days time, damages caused at Radical Ridge Way, north of Highway 6 due to rock trucks coming up to the concrete plant up on the fairgrounds, caused over $3,000 worth of damages. That's labor, machinery and rock materials,” said Commissioner Mark Thompson.

Because the roads are for public use, there isn't a whole lot MoDOT can do to help repair the roads. However, Niec agreed to ask if the contractor is willing to provide rock and maintain Radical Ridge Way.
