Pizza Hut worker injured during robbery attempt

FAIRFIELD, IOWA -- An attempted robbery at the Fairfield Pizza Hut left one employee injured over the weekend.

At 12:25 a.m. Sunday, the Jefferson County Law Center received a report of the robbery, and officers were on the scene a short time later.

The Fairfield Police Department won’t release the name of the injured employee, but the employee suffered minor injuries.

He or she was taken to Jefferson County Health Center and was treated and released.

The suspect was carrying a weapon and is described as a white male, around 6’ tall, weighing 200 pounds.

The type of weapon is not being released because of the ongoing investigation.

The incident is considered an attempted robbery because nothing was taken.
