KIRKSVILLE, MO --

If you haven't had your flu shot, it's not too late.

The Adair County Health Department has been so busy that it is opening up extra flu clinics this week.

The additional clinics should cut out some of the wait time when you go to get a flu shot.

“'We’ve had very busy clinics. We typically have clinics for this on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. However this week we're going to have two specialty clinics on Tuesday and Thursday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. to provide flu vaccine which makes it more available to the public so they can come and get their flu vaccine,” said Lori Guffey, R.N.

The health department will continue to give flu shots on regular clinic days until it runs out of the vaccine. That’s on Mondays and Fridays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Wednesdays from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The seasonal flu vaccine is free of charge to Adair county residents.
