KIRKSVILLE, MO --

The Missouri Democratic Party accused Roy Blunt of hiring an illegal worker.

Blunt is running against Secretary of State Robin Carnahan for a U.S. Senate seat.

The party says it has newly uncovered documents to prove Blunt used his Washington connections to grant the worker expedited citizenship.

“It's just another desperate attempt on their part to just say whatever they can say. Robin Carnahan has said everything about everything except what she'd do if she's elected to the United States Senate. I think Missourians would like to hear a little more of that and they've been wild with charges, very short on facts,” said

Blunt feels that his campaign is going well.

He says he'll be attending his 850th political event in Missouri over the last 18 months on Wednesday.
