(OTTUMWA, Iowa) - The Ottumwa City Council will not take up a new gun ordinance at Tuesday's regular meeting of the council.

Public Information Officer, Tom Rodgers says the proposed law has been removed from the agenda, but did not say why.

Rodgers indicated it may come up again at a later date.

Ottumwa Police Chief Jim Clark had asked the council to consider banning firearms from city buildings, such as city hall.
