KIRKSVILLE, MO -- Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader and even Yoda were strong with the force on Saturday. With Halloween only a few weeks away, youngsters from around the area dressed as their favorite Star Wars characters for a party at the Adair County Library.
“This is being sponsored by Circle K which is a student organization at Truman” said Children’s Librarian Diane Burger. “They have been doing a program each month on Saturday afternoons and we just thought the Star Wars theme was a perfect one for October because the kids could dress up in their costumes and have a lot of fun.”
The children colored different drawings as well as read Star Wars books aloud.
Burger said the next children’s fun night will be Harvest Fest. It is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, October 19, at 5:30 p.m. at the Adair County Library.
