Traffic stop leads to meth arrest

ADAIR COUNTY, IOWA -- A northeast Missouri man is facing meth charges following his arrest late Thursday night.

Daniel Yates, 48, of Queen City is charged with felony possession of a controlled substance and a misdemeanor count of unlawful use of drug paraphernalia.

According to court documents, Yates was involved in a traffic stop with an Adair County Sheriff's deputy.

After the deputy discovered Yates was subject to warrantless searches, he found three syringes in the suspect's front pocket and approximately three grams of methamphetamine in Yates' wallet.

The suspect is being held in the Adair County Jail.
