KEOSAUQUA, IOWA -- Thousands packed the town of Keosauqua, Iowa, Oct. 9, to celebrate the Fall season and the beautiful Fall foliage for the Scenic Drive Festival.
Saturday started off with the annual Keosauqua Rotary Parade.
“We represent Birmingham Fire Department and I'm excited because I get to see people and throw candy out and I just enjoy doing it,” said Michele Keiser.
"Well, we're just here to have a good time and ride through the parade and throw out a little bit of candy,” said Roy Westercamp, who was atop a horse.
"I'm here because I'm Van Buren County Junior Miss and I follow Katie Holl around; she's the queen and we are in the parade on a float and we're going to throw candy out to all the little kids," said Samantha Westercamp.
Some special groups even attended the event.
"We take people with disabilities, today's youth and the seniors out on hunting and fishing events,” said Cork, of the ‘Serve Outdoors’ group. “People that can't get out on their own, we make it so they can get out there and enjoy God's great outdoors.”
After the parade, the party didn't stop. Thousands roamed downtown Keosauqua, where vendors sold their goods, kids rode carnival rides and played games, musical groups put on shows, and no one starved to death as burgers, hotdogs, fresh donuts, kettle corn, homemade jams and so many other delicious foods filled the air with their aroma.
