KIRKSVILLE, MO. -- A northeast Missouri man could be headed to prison after pleading guilty to one count of second-degree assault.

The charge was in connection with an assault of another Kirksville man in July.
Adair County Prosecutor Matt Wilson is asking for a seven-year sentence in the case.
Barnes is set to be sentenced November 1.
Another man charged in that same assault pleaded not guilty Tuesday in Adair County Circuit Court.
