(OTTUMWA, Iowa) - The Ottumwa Police Department made numerous alcohol related arrests this weekend.
That might not be a surprise to some; it was Oktoberfest after all.
Ottumwa Police made six Operating While Intoxicated arrests, five arrests for Public Intoxication, three for Possessing Alcohol under the Legal Age, and one arrest for Providing Alcohol to a Minor from Friday night through Monday morning.
However, you can't blame Oktoberfest for most of those incidents.
Ottumwa Police Chief Jim Clark tells KTVO that only two of those incidents had any connection to Oktoberfest.
Clark says that those numbers are pretty typical for any weekend throughout the year.
