NEAR LANCASTER, MO. -- An electric cooperative's new building is taking shape in Schuyler County.
Tri-County Electric is putting up a $25,000 square foot facility two miles south of Lancaster along Highway 63.
Construction got underway June 1. The project is behind schedule thanks to all of this summer's rain.
There have been 27 weather days since then.
When the co-op's board first approved the $3.2 million project one year ago, a lot of electric customers raised a big stink.
Tri-County General Manager Dave Ramsey told KTVO Friday some of the bids came in higher than expected, so the board reduced the amount of storage by about 3,000 square feet to keep the project on budget.
Ramsey said they're hoping to move into the new facility sometime in early March.
