Former Van Buren County engineer, Ron Bonjour has died in prison.

According to the website for the U.S. Medical Center for Federal Prisons in Springfield Missouri, Ronald West Bonjour, 74, is listed as deceased.

Bonjour was sentenced to six and a half years in federal prison in 2009 after pleading guilty to child pornography charges.

At the time of the investigation, some Van Buren County residents expressed concern that Bonjour had not been removed from his post.

Van Buren County Supervisors believed Bonjour could not be fired  until he was charged of convicted. After his guilty plea, he was removed from his county job.
