JEFFERSON CITY, MO. (AP) -- Missouri's U.S. Senate campaign has become increasingly personal.

Not only are Robin Carnahan and Roy Blunt accusing each other of being corrupt and a liar, but the Democrat and Republican parties now also are bashing their families.

In the past few weeks, the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee has run ads critical of Blunt's wife. The Missouri
Republican Party has responded by raising concerns about one of Carnahan's brothers, as well as the husband of Carnahan's campaign manager.

Blunt, a Republican, currently is a congressman from southwest Missouri. Carnahan, a Democrat, is Missouri's secretary of state. The Senate election is Nov. 2.
