KIRKSVILLE, MO/OTTUMWA, IOWA -- Missouri and Iowa are taking aim at "Adult Services" content on certain websites.

The site called, www.backpage.com has Ottumwa and Kirksville targeted as "Metro Areas."

Iowa Attorney General Tom Miller and Missouri Attorney General Chris Koster joined attorneys general in 19 other states, appealing to www.backpage.com to remove the "Adult Services" section of its website due to growing evidence of human trafficking, child exploitation and prostitution through blatant advertisements of these services on its site.

The site even included a link to “Ottumwa Escorts.”

The website "Craigslist" recently removed "Adult Services" ads, and now www.backpage.com has become the government's new target.
