MACON, MO --
You can now earn a college degree in Macon, Missouri.
The city held a grand opening for the Central Methodist University campus and Macon Area Education Center Friday.
The new facility is a partnership with CMU and Moberly Area Community College.
Students will be on a plan to seamlessly transition from community college to earning a four-year degree.
“This facility with three classrooms and some computer spaces and even the possibility of a lab set up, this is serving us very well. When it no longer serves us well because we have so many students, we're told that won't be a problem, that there will be other facilities,” said CMU President Marianna Inman.
70 students are enrolled this semester. Programs offered so far are nursing, business, psychology, and child development.
