The City of Kirksville Watershed Management Commission and the Truman State University Interfraternity Council are hosting a cleanup event on Saturday, September 11 for several areas within the Forest Lake Watershed. During this event, members of various Greek fraternities and potential fraternity members will be picking up trash along the following roadways on Saturday morning: Missouri Trail, Orrick Trail, Youngstown Trail and Michigan Trail. The Interfraternity Council is a self-governing body composed of six executive board members and 15 fraternities representing nearly 600 undergraduate students. IFC strives to promote excellence among its member fraternities in numerous areas including scholarship, individual chapter development, leadership, and community service.
“Keeping our watershed clean is extremely important and the Commission appreciates the IFC for their willingness to give of their time to help eliminate trash from the Watershed”, said Clayton Dillavou, Chairman of the Watershed Management Commission. “Residents and members of the community are encouraged to refrain from disposing of trash and other debris along the roadways and open grounds.”
Citizens driving in the areas of this cleanup event are encouraged to use caution.
