NEAR KIRKSVILLE, MO. -- A mishap near Kirksville that could have resulted in serious injuries ends with none.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol told KTVO, the driver of a tractor-trailer escaped injury Thursday morning, when he failed to notice that two vehicles ahead of him had slowed down.

As the truck driver from Mason City, Iowa slammed on the brakes, his rig traveled across the centerline and off the road.

The incident happened just after 11 a.m. Thursday on Highway 63 north of the Kirksville City Limits.
