HANNIBAL, MO. -- The Depot Inn and Suites Kirksville Regional Air Festival is just around the corner. The air show is scheduled for September 11th through the 12th.
In preparation for the event, Rapid Descent Skydiving gave KTVO’s CE Huffman and Eden Derby an experience of a lifetime.
“I'm super excited right now! My instructor's very focused, I like that,” said CE.
Is there anything that you're worried about?
“Dying,” said CE.
CE Said he's afraid of dying, is that something he needs to be afraid of?
“I'm afraid of dying too,” said CE’s Tandem partner Robert Roman.
“I didn't have time to think about it, I was like ‘ok, I'll sig the papers, great!’ But I'm not going to tell my mom about it until after I have already done this. I think I'm going to be the most scared when I'm about ready to be tipped out of the plane. That's going to be the moment for me,” said Eden Derby.
CE and Eden climbed to 12,000 feet in altitude before free falling to nearly 5,500 feet. Both of their tandem instructors helped them land safely on the ground about ten minutes after leaving the airplane.
“Was it a life changing experience?” asked Julia Welchert with Rapid Descent.
“It was! Thank you so much! I would so do it again!” said Eden.
“This was life changing for me, I'm so excited,” said CE.
You might have a chance to win a free tandem skydive for yourself and have just as much fun as CE and Eden. Check out our website later this week for more details.
And if you don’t win, you can still take a ride with Rapid Descent at the air show or almost weekend at the Hannibal Regional Airport. Here is a link to their website. http://rapiddescentskydiving.com/default.aspx
