Fairfield elementary school evacuated

FAIRFIELD, IOWA -- Fairfield Police responded to a possible bomb threat at Pence Elementary School early Friday afternoon.

The school was evacuated for about forty minutes.

After an investigation it was determined there was no threat, nor hostile intention.

A student was found to have brought a hand grenade to the school in a back pack. The grenade which was not live and may have been a historical artifact.

Alex Halfmann will have complete report at five, six and 10 tonight.
